If you build it

I was reading an article on the internet titled "This is your ideal job, based on your Zodiac sign." I'm a Libra and my chosen profession, architecture, falls under the art field category.

At a young age I noticed I was a gifted artist and loved to draw. But by the time I was in 6th grade I was tired of drawing the same isometric boxes and birthday cakes in art classes so I took a break from them for a while.

When I was in 9th grade I was selecting my schedule of classes for high school and I needed one more elective class. My dad suggested drafting. "What's that?" I asked. He said it was drawing but with rulers and straight edges. So I signed up for that class and my drawings amazed the teacher and other students. I was the star student in every drafting class after that. In fact, at my trade school graduation I was awarded the "Best all around student" award by the faculty. I thanked one of my professors afterwards and he said to me, "No, you earned it."

I'm not sure how drawing construction plans for buildings helps and nurtures the world but I've had a boss address me as "Mr. Smartypants" and been told by a client that I've "been great."
